A vineyard map you can tap
Six blocks on a drawn contour map. Each one shows its elevation, what grows there, and the wine it becomes, with a button to add it to a tasting flight.
Concept project · Winery
Lantern Ridge Vineyard is a fictional Yadkin Valley winery I designed to show how a hospitality site can feel like the place itself. A winery sells a view, an evening, and a story as much as a bottle, so the site is built to make people want to visit. The business is made up, so this page is about the thinking and the build, not results.
The goal
People do not choose a winery from a list of wines. They choose it because they can picture the afternoon. The site has to make them feel the place, then make reserving a tasting the easiest next step.
So it leads with the land and the evening, and keeps reservations within reach on every page.
What I built
Six blocks on a drawn contour map. Each one shows its elevation, what grows there, and the wine it becomes, with a button to add it to a tasting flight.
Choose four wines and see the flight fill four glasses with the price. The choice goes into the reservation, so the visit is planned before anyone arrives.
The site can switch to an evening look with a dark, warm palette. By default it follows the real sunset time, so it matches the mood of an evening visit.
A visit planner suggests ways to spend an afternoon, and the wine club page lets people fill a crate and see their selection come together.
Feature
A few hundred feet can change a wine, and the map shows that. Tapping a block brings up its elevation, slope, planting year, and a short story about the wine it makes.
It gives people a reason to care about one bottle over another, and a reason to come see the place in person.
Feature
The flight builder turns a long wine list into something playful. Each pick fills a glass, the price updates, and the flight carries into the reservation form.
It makes the list easier to read, and it makes the visit feel planned instead of random.
On a phone
Visitors check hours, directions, and what is on tonight from their phone, often in the car. The key facts, the lantern time, and the reserve button are all at the top, and the map and the flight builder work with a thumb.
The idea behind it
Wine is bought on a feeling. The site is designed to give that feeling before anyone has set foot on the property.
Hours, flights, events, and reservations are all within a tap, so nobody gives up halfway through planning.
A clear, friendly club page gives happy visitors a simple way to keep the wine coming.
